Training

Maui County Health Volunteers aims to have a group of trained people who know each other and have experience working together, ready to assist in the event of a disaster. To this end, we offer a wide range of trainings, non-emergency volunteer opportunities, and mock emergency scenarios for members to “practice” skills related to emergency response. Some trainings are required, some are “recommended,” and others are purely optional. Our training list is based on the “core competencies” established by the national Medical Reserve Corps leadership.

  • Psychological First Aid
  • Volunteer & Worker Safety During Response (bloodborne pathogens and personal protective equipment),
